2021: #11 UCLA vs #11 Michigan St (86-80 OT First Four)
UCLA limped into the Big Dance with a 17-9 record and a four game losing streak. The Bruins trailed the Spartans by 11 points (33-44) at halftime but a strong 2nd half got them back in the game. UCLA found themselves down by 3 (74-77) with 37 seconds left and Jamie Jaquez Jr at the free throw line. Jaquez missed his free throw but got the rebound and completed a 3 point play a few seconds later to tie the game and send it to overtime. The Bruins would go on to win the East region and advance to the Final Four for the 19th time in school history. UCLA became only the second team in NCAA history to reach the Final Four as a First Four team joining the 2010-2011 VCU Rams.
