This year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Season has been far from conventional. The powerhouse schools that usually sit atop the polls (Kentucky, Duke, Michigan St, North Carolina) are nowhere to be seen. In fact, for the first time in nearly 60 years not one of those teams is ranked in the Top 25. Meanwhile the Gonzaga Bulldogs have stayed at the top spot the entire season with the Baylor Bears close behind at #2. However, these final three weeks of the season will most certainly be a roller coaster ride. Canceled and postponed games have affected numerous teams. Baylor hasn’t played a game since February 2nd due to Covid-19 protocols. It will be interesting to see how the Bears regroup after such a long hiatus. Meanwhile, like clockwork the Bulldogs have breezed through their WCC schedule and have beaten every opponent thus far by double digits except for a 5 point victory against West Virginia (87-82) back in early December. Gonzaga has the talent and coaching to win it all but subpar competition from conference opponents may come back to haunt them.
So, in par with the unconventionality of the times this year’s Bracket Bingo Competition will follow suit. Players will enter their picks by completing a form/board that can be found here. Instead of playing for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place, the player will be playing to beat a “House” board created by our very own Bracket Nerd. Only this board will be posted along with point total updates. Players will be responsible for tracking their score. At the end of the Competition any player who has more points than the “House” board will win a randomly selected prize (gift card, T-shirt, bumper sticker, Collector’s Card, etc). Any player who scores 5 Bingos will win a $500 Visa Gift Card. The Official Rules for this year’s Bracket Bingo Competition will be posted in the coming weeks.
